  • 2016 BarVBar Zoom tasting. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Trying this again 1 year on. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of peppery spice, ripe red cherries, earthy undertones. Developing.
On the palate, dry high acidity, medium+ alcohol, fine smooth silky high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of peppery spice, licorice, ripe red cherries, sur red cherries, balsamic, emerging serious clayey earth. Sweet + savoury with more air. Long fine structured grippy finish.
Very good quality. Chugging along to age well.

  • Pecchenino Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of balsamic, black cherries, dark red cherries, dark licorice, dark peppery spices. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, fine velvety structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black cherries, dark red cherries, classic sour red cherries, dark licorice, dark peppery spices, balsamic, serious earth. Long velvety but structured finish.
Very good quality. Serious good fruit concentration. Like the Le Coste, needs more age to unfurl. Upside potential for sure 10-15 years. Conservative score.
