  • expecting more, underdeveloped perhaps, but i can’t see this gaining the complexity to justify the “companion” score.

  • Appearance: clear deep purple
Nose: plum, mulberry, blackberry. Black cherry. Dried fig, prune. Oak: vanilla, cloves, cedar, chocolate, coffee. Clean, pronounced intensity, youthful, secondary flavours.
Palate: plum, mulberry, blackberry. Black cherry. Tamarillo. Leather. Dried fig. Oak: vanilla, nutmeg, cedar, resinous, chocolate. Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol (14,5% alcohol), full bodied. Medium(+) flavour intensity, secondary flavours, long finish.
Conclusions: outstanding. Can drink blackberry, has potential for ageing.
Seal natural cork. Rich, ripe, with lots of oak and fruit, but also enough acidity to balance and retain elegance/freshness.

  • Purple fruit, but savoury as well, black pepper, candy apple, olive, choc, vanilla
hint of funky, adding to the flavour that is still mostly primary
    med-heavy weighted fruit driven palate,
lush dark fruit finish long and dry.
just a little bitter after 3hrs at the end of the bottle
    # Delightful! old school fruit forward wine,
    needs time in the cellar
94+ (should go higher with some age)

  • Hand-picked from the certified biodynamic estate Block 12 on a fruit day, wild yeast-open fermented with 25% whole bunches, matured in a 2500l French foudre. It's impossible to find anything done or not done that would improve this superb wine. It's (only) medium-bodied, but fills the senses with its tantalising bouquet, always with something more to say, yet it pales into insignificance once you taste the wine. It takes intensity and length to a new horizon, a sip as complex as that of a Rare Rutherglen muscat
