13.5% alcohol; screw top, color like a pale yellow diamond with some effervescence bubbles clinging to the inside of the glass; fast to medium legs; fruit-forward nose of citrus, stone fruit, sharp kiwi, butterscotch, a little cinnamon, even cloves; tasted at about 23 degrees C, full bodied, first impression is minerals, and lots of them, followed by sourness, sweetness/fruitiness, and bitterness, in that order; toward the back of the tongue and into the long finish the minerals reassert themselves, enmeshed in a pinch of honeysuckle nectar and blossom honey -- a welcome change from many of the over-citrused Sauvignon Blancs from down under; pair with cold-water oil-rich Pacific fish like Chilean Sea Bass, preferably slow-grilled on pecan wood boards

Pale lemon in color. Nose of sweet honeysuckle, lemon, pear, and gravel. Medium+ mouthfeel, heavier than expected. A bit of up front sweetness that quickly fades. Acidic lemons, lime, and honey lead to a dry moderate-length limestone and gravel finish.
Could you do better from NZ, sure. But when there are not many other choices at a mega market – this is a good pick at a reasonable price.
