Agreeing with most reviews here. Balanced wine, but less expressive than expected. I could even say it's a bit closed for the moment. A decent wine, but getting less than wat the pro's are promising. Next bottles will have to wait a while. I guess the wine will be at it's best around 8 years of age...

Wine tasting with colleagues: Agree with previous notes that this was dark-fruited, tannic and closed at the moment. Thought this would be open but guess I missed the window.
As a few others have noted, this is a bit tannic and heavy right now, quite different than the professional reviews suggest (but consistent with another 2019 St. Estephe I’ve tried in this price range). The fruit is there but it’s underwhelming, and leans more to plum than cassis.
I expect this will improve with age, but right now I don’t find it very enjoyable. Maybe the pros got it wrong?
P.S. It’s interesting that this wine contains 3% Petit Verdot, which Robert Parker once described as providing “the hard tannic backbone that is otherwise absent as a result of a high concentration of Merlot.” (Bordeaux, A Consumer’s Guide, 4th Ed.)

Solid, typical Bordeaux, great QPR. Pretty tight, not very expressive, but balance seems good. Check back in a couple of years.
