From 375ml 2nd day sample. Rather coarse tannins. Milk chocolate element really dominates the nose. Ripe but seemingly extracted fruit. I don’t care for the roasted element on the finish—not sure if that oak or over ripe fruit. Disjointed at this stage. Would hold and hope.

Decided to check in on this since I have several bottles but have never actually had the producer before. Well aware of Michel Rolland's work and (polarizing) reputation, I had a sense for what to expect. Right out of the gate, it presented as a fruit forward wine from Napa. Dark purple in the glass with flavors and aromas predominantly of blackberry and other dark fruits, with sage making an appearance after a few minutes of air. All very primary for now, this should do well with some moderate aging to let the oak integrate and let the blackberry settle down a bit. For $21, this is not bad at all and an easy bottle to drink any day of the week.

92 for now, but will improve with aging. Very nice, intensive bouquet - you can smell many red fruits, smoke and lacorice? In palate lot of body, still too much tannins, nice acidity, long finish. One feels the alcohol - a bit less would have made it a bit more elegant. Adding: After 2 hours already much smoother, the tannins are less in the center. Much more enjoyable. Would say great buy!

continues to stay approachable - a touch of heat, but for the price still a wonderful QPR. hold or drink.
