  • 14% alcohol. G, S, Mrvdr, Crgn, Cnslt in equal proportions. Top class long dense cork with no wine penetration. Medium ruby colour.
The nose is very appealing with liquorice and violet; classy and vibrant, I could sniff this all day. The mouth is in the same mould, definitely red fruited and with a winning juicy quality. Nothing heavy here.
Did not quite stand up to beef Bourguignon (but what does?); much better on its own afterwards, and I am basing this note on the last glass (or two).
Very successful. An object lesson on how a wine can be fulfilling without being overly concentrated; in the same spirit as the best Etna wines.
Terrasses du Larzac rarely disappoints in my experience.
PS: the next day (after a night in the fridge, re-corked), the wine is still in pristine condition.
