  • Full of taste. Big and bold. ….also seems to be high in alcohol…. All in all a winner

  • Initially: full bodied for a barbera, slightly less acidic, and a bit muddled. Good accompaniment to lentil sausage stew, but not terribly detailed
Day 2, from a not very full stopped decanter: almost bomby, seemingly collapsed
Day 3, from a mostly full 375: acid gloriously coats my entire mouth with raspberry, black plum, blood, oranges, the best, fruitiest aspects of red bell pepper, and salt. Delicious with barley simmered in all-day steeped oyster mushroom stock with roasted sausages and apples, the occasional cumin seed lengthening the wine considerably
Verdict: received as a gift, and seeing this Tortonesi producer makes this & timorasso, I hoped my brother had stumbled onto Massa or better. It ain't, but it's good wine. Not super aromatic, and backsliding from 'authenticity' towards modernity, but good wine
