Frighteningly youthful but quite tasty. Can see why others are speculating that this had something besides PN in the “blend”. My apologies, this note was as on the ‘66!

Massive, lush, and very young seeming. Lots of very plummy ripe fruit. Age shows in some ways, especially on the nose, but I'm pretty certain this has been dosed, either with a little spirit or with Rhone. Didn't budge AT ALL over the 4 hours we had it open, which does suggest the former. Still a very interesting look at semi-historic Burgundy. A complete opposite of the Musigny drunk alongisde.

A Trip to Bern's for Old Bordeaux and Burgundy (Tampa, FL): From magnum. Big, hyperripe, flirting with with oxidation. Low acid. Stemmy (in a good way), but ultimately a bit weird, oddly sweet and roasted. Chaptalized? I never wrapped my head around this wine.

Great Older Wines at the Place to Drink Great Older Wines; 2/8/2008-2/9/2008 (Tampa FL): Red with slight browning. Red and black cherry with massive spice box from start to finish. Great power and fruit density with secondary character emerging nicely as a background complement. Small chance this was a bit manipulated but this wine was sensational, even if there is a dollop of non Pinot Noir included.

LdC does Mecca - Saturday (Tampa): (single blind) - Full red with slight pink at the edges. Forward nose of bright black fruit, spice, and mineral earthy notes. Big tight, almost tannic, black cherry on the palate. Incredible spice and power here.
