Stood up for a few days. Decanted for 2 hrs. Dark garnet with a slight brown rim. Lovely deep nose of spice and tobacco. Full and a bit chunky on the palate. Very nice indeed, but I'm running out of my 96s!

This note is about a decade later than the most recent posts. The wine has only improved. Was worried it would have lost its fruit by now but NO! A dense texture, almost opaque. Notes of chocolate, tobacco, and blackberry preserves. Very, very long on the finish. This 22 y.o. St. Estephe is to die for. Who would have thought it's at its peak in 2018?!

Dark red, paling edges. Typical Bx nose w tobacco, blackcurrants, some oak, touch of currants. Medium+ body w crisp acidity, still active tannins, fruit begiining to dry (but still pleasant). Good balance, fairly long aftertaste w grassy notes. Time to drink up. A wine true to its origins, a pleasant surprise.

Aromas of leather, hint of cedar, cassis, hints of green peppers and stems. Palate w creamy, smooth mouthfeel, full tannins, cassis and herbs. 91+
