Earl grey tea and raspberry with a touch of smoke on nose. Taste follows nose with strawberry notes on finish. Lighter on first taste than smell would suggest. kept in balance with good acidity. A little tart on the aftertaste. No ones going to confuse for a burgundy but a lovely wine. I had a Raen several years back that bordered on jammy, but that is not the case here - the Mondavis have improved their game. Will continue to buy in the future.

aromas of orange peel and red cranberry emerge with air and really waft around in the glass, the palate is exotic, showcasing a mix of plum, raspberry, minty herb and mushroom, silky texture, deep richness with lift that provides elegance, quite long, the finish has a hint of burnt orange, distinctive, drinking with ease now, good potential to evolve for the next decade, tasty

This bottle was a gift so a one-off but it is an excellent wine with significant potential upside given time.
Upon opening, quite fruity but after an hour in the decanter, it was a wonderfully balanced and savoury wine. Cherry, plum, raspberry combined with earthy notes such as black tea, mushroom etc. Very delicious and not at all bright. Nice finish with dusty fine tannin. Loved it.

See previous notes. Pretty light on its feet considering it’s depth. Black cherry, sweet spice and potpourri. Preferred it upon opening on day one.

Chateau Biawak Chapter 9: SONOMAvatar - The way of water (Chateau Biawak, Singapore): 13.0% ABV. The house style of RAEN is 100% whole cluster fermentation on native yeasts, neutral barrel use, bottling without fining or filtration.
Elegant floral nose, brambly blackberries, cherries, spicy forest floor, petrichor, crushed stones, whole cluster magic kicks in with spice, black tea, and mushroomy earthiness, dusty tannins
