  • Sweet vanilla and light cherry flavors. Acid is light, but the tannins still give it some backbone. I truly can't decide how to rate this. Also, I'm not a pinot noir specialist. At 10 years it has softened a lot, and I'd say it is starting to move past its peak. This wine remains quite pleasant. The flavors start reasonably intense, but then drop off fairly quickly. Of the three I've tried this week, I'd rank the 98 Rex Hill below the 2002 Elk Cove and above the 1999 Arcadia.
