Food pairing: Garlic Bread with Marinara. Smell: pear, apple, butter, little to no oak. Taste: soft acidity on the tip of the tongue, pineapple and kiwi fruit on the mid-palate, almost a hint of sweetness, fruit is pretty ripe and pleasing. Finish is smooth and lingering, but simple and unremarkable. Overall, very drinkable, but not complex at all. Label on front and back completely fell off in the wine cooler, only bottle of the 100 it holds with that problem.

Thursday Night 5 for $5 (The Grapevine - Pocatello, ID): Medium straw color, moderate nose of citrus and vanilla (oak). Medium body, with lively/fresh acid. Flavors of apple, vanilla, citrus, soap and minerals. A bit of SweetTart. Decent finish, ok balance, fairly complex.

(RAYMOND RESERVE CHARDONNAY) #4; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-Oak, grapefruit, Toe cheese funk (I like); TASTE-Oak Monster is ready to party!; but a massive amount of acidity too; grapefruit component w/ some white asparagus tops; tangy; little complex apple action; interesting, but not great; lots going on, but nothing working together; GV-85

Not oaked but nothing exciting. I usually expect more from a Napa Valley wine.

Actually quite a nice surprise. A gentle butter note with a full chard profile.
