  For once, the wine critics nailed it. This was an absolutely fantastic Chianti Classico. Starts out with a bit of smoky in a good way, evolving into 100% Varietally correct bunch of red fruit and cedar. The acidity is muted down enough to make the wine enjoyable without fear of an overnight gerd event (tomato + red wine😫). Definitely worth it, unsurprisingly from Antinori.

  Drank at Restaurante Giuseppe. Went great with pasta and cannoli for desert.

  Pnp. Dark black cherry red with a bit of a garnet undertone. Long legs. Enticing nose, heavy with red and black fruits, fennel, deep floral notes and dark spice. Medium-full bodied, tangy fruit, silty tannins, long juicy finish. Palate follows the nose quite closely. Gobs of dark fruit, integrated oak influences, spice, chalky minerals and a dry finish. Lovely balance. Still young, but very good and utterly delicious! Easy 92 points!

  Under cork. Quite a bit of soakage; about 1.5 cm. PnP. Mulberry red core with a red rooibos tea rim. Charry mulberries, sour cherry, stone dust, light funk.and tobacco on the nose. Nice mature nose. Medium-full bodied, brisk acidity, chalky tannins, sappy fruit extract and good acidity. Sweet, sour and dried red cherries on the palate, toasted oak, minerals, ink and a nice astringency on the finish. Nicely balanced, very dry and food friendly wine! Still lots of life left in these!

  Really enjoyed this wine. Well balanced and somewhat luscious. Lovely cherry fruit flavours. The wine is full together and ready to drink. It has very and plumbs on the nose and a long lingering finish. I just wish I had lots more of it.
