Excellent, seamless wine, 12.5% alc. Colour: darkish yellow, which started as pale lemon when first opened Bouquet: whiffs of kerosene/petrol, lime cordial, some spice, vanilla bean and vegetation Palate: creamy vanilla and lemon, apricots, good body, structure and acid, though short on length April 2016

Somms Australia - Riesling Tasting: Wax, lanolin, honey and lemon. Plenty of toast and while the fruit still has density, it is time to drink based on this bottle.

Screwcap. Colour significantly darker than the 2004. Gentle nose has a slight whiff of petrol as its strongest component; there are also hints of caramel, white pepper, lime cordial, and cedar. The palate is smooth, full-bodied, rich, and balanced, with flavours of caramel, fresh apple, preserved lemon, and guava. Very nearly as good as the excellent 2004.

Poured a bit dark in colour and the nose also gave the impression of slight the wine being slightly oxidised. Slight lime cordial on the nose and palate, but ultimatley losing the fight against time and oxygen. Not a patch on the brilliant 2001 we had last month. Drink up.
