Day 2 from double decanted bottle. Only 2 glasses left.
Gorgeous nose of strawberry, dusty garden,
Excellent palate of spices, dry, light on the tongue like a cloud, a wine cloud, which reminded me of a rare French chocolate called Les Pyrénéens which had a similar effect, a sort of disappearing act of the mouth. This wine had punch but crazy levity: So good!
Tobacco galore, leather, luxurious dirt, black dirt, some bitter of wild herbs, hints of cassis, cherry.
That this held up 2 days after a double decant like this says volumes.
Love it!

Had the same experience as Sid G, but draw a different conclusion. Saw at Costco with a decent score from WineSpectator and decided to give it a try...altho my first instinct about the $11 price point eventually proved correct - you get what you pay for, even with Chianti. Some expected Chianti aromatics, but palate insipid with watered down, muddled flavors and a thin finish. Also missing: characteristic tannic backbone and tart, acidic finish. More like a middle or lower-shelf CA Cab at Safeway - a few of the expected elements, but otherwise a pale imitation. Avoid.

Great representation of an entry level Chianti Classico riserva. Medium/light body, with flavors of dark cherry and mushroom. Medium++ mouth watering acidity and finishes dry. Might be too low in fruit and too high in acidity for some, but I liked it a lot. Good wine for Italian foods. Tasted after a bite of pecorino Romano cheese and it really softened the acidity, testifying to how this is a good wine to have with dry hard cheese, antipasto, and pastas. Highly recommended in my opinion. Certainly worth the $11 price at Costco. Can’t go wrong at that price. If you don’t like it toss it out, or send it to me, I’ll gladly drink it!

Excellent wine!
Double decanted yesterday, and today is fantastic, soft, lush, and on par with quality way over its price.
These reviews here are from novices that don't know their quality from jerk wines of Safeway crap.
This wine is soft, lush, luxurious and quality for sure. Tobacco, mentholl, light berry, decomposed leaves, forest yumminess.
Will buy again.
