  • Deep purple with an immediate impression closer to Bordeaux than Burgundy - smudged cassis and black currant, with blueberry pie, graphite and a raisiny note that I sense is obscuring underlying complexity. The palate brings much needed freshness and lift, followed by powdery tannins that assert a voluptuous grip. Probably better with the right food, but very 2018 and not what I seek from Gevrey or Burgundy.
