Mid-Week Chill (Tung Lok Signatures, Central): Objectively not bad, but not to my taste. Very young and primary, so we dumped it into a decanter for an hour or so. The nose was a no-no to me. It smelt like a new world pinot of the very manipulated variety - all candied cherries, raspberries and a little toss of earth and oak. To say it was fruit forward would be an understatement. A lot better on the palate though. It had a really nice freshness to it, with lovely acidity forming a nice frame for sweet, but not overly confected, red fruit. Still primary, but there was also a nice earthiness as the wine entered into a satisfying finish. All in all, a bit too OTT for me at the moment, but there are good enough bones here to make me think that it will improve with time.

Tasting with Bruno at Domaine Bruno Desaunay-Bissey in Flagey-Echezeaux, Burgundy. (Domaine Bruno Desaunay-Bissey in Flagey-Echezeaux, Burgundy.): Very forward blackberry and other black fruits on the nose with a vanillin background. The palette has rich supple tannins and great fruit balance.
