Deliciously well made wine, red fruit, distinct sour cherry notes, dusty tannins, fresh acidity, nicely integrated oaky toasty notes and some leather and earth too. Cherry pie! Great value.

Dark cherries, rosemary, a touch of VA under a layer of dusty Tuscan soil. Juicy acidity on entry, med tannins, good balance on the finish. Leave others a few years

Red with some garnet around the edges. Dullish intensity on the edges but does turn more vibrant in the core. Aromas are a bit muted but showing dark berry fruit, cherries, cinnamon and nutmeg spices, and an earthiness. I also get some vague orange peel on the finish. Nice balance overall. Medium bodied. Not a big fruit component, more muted on the fruit but it is there below the surface. Dusty tannins, maybe slightly on the bitter side. More greenness on the flavour component. Overall flavour is like a blanket covering the wine ... like a dusty misty cloud covering (in a good way). I wanted to see more of a fruit component though to lift the wine. Tasty wine.

I am definitely biassed (this is my winery), but I find our 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva a truly noble wine: elegant, balanced, with beautiful fruits (dark cherry in particular) followed by spicy notes - cinnamon, nutmeg and a bit of pepper, hints of orange peel and crushed terracotta. Silky on the palate, with a long finish.
