  • Complete, delicious, high yum factor. Fantastic bouquet of cassis and violet, medium body, with coating mouthfeel and smooth, smooth finish. Tannins are still prominent but not offensive. This wine has stuffing to last decades, wish I has more. But very glad to drink and savor this one now. Paired with smoked tri-tip and garlic potatoes and carrots. Really singing.

  • Decanted..an hour later the aromas of berries - black and blue - wafted from the decanter, with a heavy vanilla cream undertone. This wine is really thick. Also, pretty tannic, as you may guess at this age. But you know what? Drink it now if that's what you're after! I had this with pizza and it really delivered.

  • Decanted, then let fly! Lovely currant, and all the red fruits, maybe a hint of blue. Then came the baking spices, and at some point some really interesting root beer notes. The tannins are still pretty chewy! I'm just checking in with this. It's so hard to wait! But wait I will. 2 more years? Can I do it?

  • Our first JB Neufeld purchased during BD. Drank over two days, review on second day. This seems far from being in its drinking window, but is quite good already. The nose is mineral driven, with earth, pepper, and with plenty of fruit that approaches -- but falls a bit short of -- 50/50 balance on the nose. On the palate the fruit is red and blue, with plenty of mouth puckering tannin and acidic lift. Nice early balance here, with more than a half-dozen years of improvement to go, it seems, with years after that of peak drinking. Very nicely done. 93 today, with a possible additional point or two with time.
