This was so approchable and had all the good things we love about good burgundy a great nose and a structured and delicious palate. Nice minerality with light extraction. Punches way above its weight class.

1 hr air. Well, @Burgundy Al must have had this with a lot of air in a good setting because smooth and silky would not be good descriptors for me: this was formidably structured - tannins and acid both - and gawky but impressive dark berries, burnt wood, cinnamon, and mint. It’s telling to me that this wine picked up the broiled swordfish we had with it and threw it back at me in a weird and implausibly young gamey taste. All of which is to say: I am very happy I have a couple more bottles to try in a long long time from now. This requires patience in the cellar - a lot of it. Could be really special in time. I am very hopeful for a glorious future given @Burgundy Al’s impressions
Score: 91+. Who knows? Waaay too young. Relative to expectations : let’s mark it ++ because it is very likely to be at least that in time. Loved this - wish I had not opened one for science when I already know better…..

Burnished red to mahoganey. Nose is very open of dark wild berries. Welcoming and delic palate. Drink now or hold for 15 years ...... whatever that tells you. Top Fixin!

Joyaux en Côte de Nuits (Marsannay/Gevrey-Chambertin) - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Tonnellerie Rousseau - Gevrey-Chambertin): Walk around tasting. A big step up over 2018. Big spicebox aromas with brambly black fruit. Elegant, silky tannins make this seem so much softer and less rustic vs 2018 just tasted, yet just as rich and concentrated.
