Opened for a 1/2 hour. Bricking color indicating the age of this wine. Wonderfully complex nose of red fruit, spice box, and tobacco. Light to mid weight body with balanced acidity and integrated tannins. This is drinking beautifully now!

NSG North Virtual Tasing (Zoom / Chicago): Nicely complex aromas of earthen black cherry, some modest funk and hints of black tea. Palate has good concentration and juiciness with some remaining grit and structure. Black cherry, earth and spice. Very good now and should hold.

Nuits St. Georges 1er "Northside" Tasting (Chicagoland IL): Slightly musky start, but that quickly blew off, revealing a charming Vosne-spiced beauty of red cherry and berry with Asian five spice. 2001 character also coming through clearly with firm acidity and tannins, but in the near background. Very good now through 2026 or so.
Single glass using Coravin. PnP and then drunk over 45 minutes or so. Similar experience to drwine2001's excellent note from 2019; although oak/wood not especially prominent on this occasion.

Still quite deep ruby core. Initially quite fragrant in the green register with blackberry fruit, this broadened aromatically, showing more dark cherry and oak. Medium weight that also developed more flesh in the glass. Eventually some ground coffee in addition to the fine fruit and very strong, cranberry acidity. In toto, excellent, modern, clean, and probably a bit too much wood, but this has fared very well and shows no signs of retreat.
