  • I brought this back from France in '07 and the last bottle was spectacular. This time around, I was honestly a bit worried, since I have not had the greatest luck lately with oxidized/corked wines. My fear was underscored as the cork was stubborn--resisting extraction, but it eventually succumbed with a healthy "pop". Slightly golden with plenty of sparkle, and a creamy richness on the nose. It gets a "Whoa" just on the nose. Creamy and rich on the palate and at least another full Whoa. Acidity balances out the creaminess and the finish is unreal. A third "Whoa". • Brought this back from the winery in '07 and had been holding it, waiting for the right moment. If there is a more "right" moment than my wife's birthday, I am not sure what it is. Even though this is pushing 15 years old, it is still fresh and vibrant with near perfect balance. One bottle left that I will hold a bit longer in hopes that the "older champagne characteristics" might emerge. Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

  • Excellent typical vintage champagne - not as full a yeasty flavour, made it lighter and easier to drink. Perfect spritz. Could probably have lasted a few more years yet.
And went very well with the curry.
