  • Solid expression of echezeaux. In a good spot age wise. However it just never showed me anything that I loved. It definitely had a lot of competition and might have gotten lost in the shuffle of 50+ wines though.

  • Evening session at ESBK. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of red cherries, tea leaves, earth. Developing.
On the palate, dry, lovely high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), silky integrated medium+ to high tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet ripe red cherries, tea leaves, earth, wet saline mineral, leather meat with more air. Very long finish.
Very very good quality. Very engaging as it kept bringing me back to the glass for more sips. I would describe it as quiet power with elegance. In a good place.

  • opened to a delight of dark fruit but with a slightly off putting feral smell which unforunately marred my enjoyment. DC could find no flaw whatsoever and was impressed. now back to my glass 24 hours later and that's all gone revealing again a dark fruited wine with a juicy and even meaty mid palate followed by astringent tannins. better showing today. Possible a bottle issue, possible an end user defect. I would like to try another bottle of this.

  • {Bought on release, perfect fill, etc.; PopNPour over 2 hours with MK} Beautiful attack, primarily crunchy red cherry notes over a black fruit base, very good length and palate presence, beginning to enter mature period. Not the highest scoring wine I've ever had but clearly Grand Cru quality. Very satisfying wine. No rush to open next bottle.

  • This was fantastic. Great color. Gorgeous nose of ripe red fruit with some secondary notes to follow. Perfect weight on the palate, with silky texture and solid finish. Grand cru quality for sure. Drinking wonderfully.
