Many of the 2019's are in a bit awkward stage in my opinion and I think this bottle typified that current trend. This was a good bottle of wine, but I found it to be somewhat restrained. Rich color, a purple dark reddish with a pleasing nose. Palate: Dark berry and cherry fruits, boysenberry, currants, tobacco and some acidity. Composed of 95.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Cabernet Franc, 1.9% Merlot and 0.4% Petit Verdot. This wine was consumed over a period of about 3 days and all were Coravin pours. The first was given very little air and although I could detect some potential underlying elements in the wine, the substance that I hoped for never showed. Despite giving it some air, on days 2 and 3, the results were pretty much the same. I enjoy Cabs from Sonoma/ Alexander Valley but for now, I believe cellaring will help this vintage, better days lie ahead. 90+/91? Points.

This is a nice wine that's not overripe or overdone thank God. It lacks some vigor and intensity but came around with some air. Soft and elegant with blackberry fruit and hints of Napa earth and subtle spices.

A pleasant surprise—both that it was served at a work event, and also that it is drinking so well already. I like SO (I know, another polarizing) but I usually like it to settle down for 5-7 years before I drink it. This was definitely structured, but I found the tannins pleasant and a great foil for the rich dark soily fruit. It was served pnp. This is the exact kind of wine I would like to have on hand at home when I want to scratch this itch of something pretty good but not my best bottles and no time for prep. Tried the Caymus that was being served afterwards and no comparison, the silver oak was so much more complex and serious while still pleasurable.

good dark fruit, earth, pencil lead and bitter black tea; good stuffing but a bit ponderous at this stage

So deep and delicious while being fresh and juicy and peppery. Amazing finish. A great compliment to Roast leg of lamb.
