  • Deep purple/red colour, completely opaque. A gluey nose, fairly tight with a hint of rich plums when you swill the wine in the glass. When tasting you immediately get the sweetness and fruit forward nature of this wine. Almost like a weak port. Lots of plumy notes with peppery notes. Some tannins which lead to a medium finish. A little sickly.

This wine got a mixed reaction at the wine tasting I brought it to. For some it was the best wine of the night, for others it was brash and too sweet. It's a matter of taste I guess.

  • Lovely deep red, dark and opaque. Aroma of smoke and definite oak on the nose. Dark fruit and some cherry with a great smooth tannin structure. Mid finish. Lovely wine which would be great with stews and other hearty foods.

  • Deep Purple. Powerful strawberry and current nose. Complex black fruit flavors. Nice medium mouth-feel that lingers. Overall this is a nice wine but it definitely shows its lower latitude origin - jammy fruit and a little flat on the palate almost like syrup. Again, good wine, but not a crisp palate cleanser. Good by itself.

  • I drank my first sip within just a few minutes of opening the bottle. The vapors were overpowering making the taste less than desireable. I put down the glass and reappoached it 30 mins later. The vapors had died down and the taste was complex. I finished the glass with just an average opinion about what I had just consumed. Day 2 = This is where EOS Petite Sirah gets its 90 point rating from me. The plum color is beautiful. The vapors are all gone and replaced with a pleasent nose. Like smelling a rose. The taste is a basket of plums and yum. Directions should be included with this bottle. Poor into a glass and don't even think of tasting this for an hour. On day 2, you'll love it.
