Decanted for 2.5 hours. Aromas of dark chocolate, currant, blackberry, black cherry and lead pencil. Flavors of cherry, blackberry, currant, mocha and fruitcake. Has a good amount of tannin on it. Ends with a long finish of 40-45 seconds with blackberry and black cherry notes. Agree with the Schrader comments. Quite amazing as it is half the price. I need to seek out more of these and also try the Cab Franc.
Oakville AVA tasting (67 Pall Mall): A subtle cedar note, rose petal, mint. Quite contained with a balance of red and dark fruit. Not a blockbuster on the palate - there's some sweetness and a medium to full body: the palate is actually a little dilute based upon the assertiveness of the nose, but actually that's no bad thing: certainly drinkable. A slight tinny note on a good length finish - but generally this is a slightly dialled back rendition and all the better for it, allowing for some delineation and complexity.

Wife not feeling this one quite as much as she is picking up more pyrazines. I like the depth and concentration of fruit. No rough edges.

this wine was exceptionally good at the price point. Reminds me a little of Tor and Schrader from To Kalon.
Black fruit, cassis, chocolate, cedar, tobacco, black currant, well balanced finishers with smokey oak. A+ (97)
