  • This has been open, in the fridge for 2.5 weeks. I thought it would be dead, but it was pretty fresh. This is orange-gold and the nose is quite mature. It is really spicy: showing a lot of baking spices plus some chili pepper. There is baked apple, some caramel, and marmalade - sweet and sour orange, smoke. The palate starts off soft but the bracing 96 acidity comes in: this has apple, baked apple, marmalade, a bit of dark caramel - some bitterness, maybe even a touch of molasses. The finish shows the apple, bitter orange peel and more molasses. There's a vanilla creme thing that is really nice. It's definitely got that baked old Riesling thing going, but the acid keeps it fresh. Pretty good. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 16/20.

  • This bottle was brought by a friend that had opened it yesterday. Still very fine, alive. Entering the most interesting phase: petrol, ripeness. Long future ahead.
