Medium-deep reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of red cherries, boysenberries & raspberries with overtones of dusty/earthy & spice notes of cloves & cinnamon, some floral notes of roses, cola, minerals & a slight hint of oak/vanilla. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, mulberries & cranberries with spices, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & even at 6 years of age, it should develop slightly further with additional aging.

Enjoyed @28-50 Wine Workshop after Michelot Meursault. No specific note taken. Not a typical Pinot Nior, even considering Sonoma Coast. Touch of tropical fruit, black cherry, dark berries, dried flowers. Medium-bodied, clean, lack of strength.

Retail $50. I received this wine as a sample to be included in the Fourth Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir. The problem was that it arrived a couple of weeks *after* the tasting took place. Too bad, as I feel this wine would have done quite well. Fairly dark in color, particularly for a Pinot, with dark berry fruit on the nose: black cherry, black raspberry, even some plum. There is also a healthy dose of vanilla (the wine spent 10 months in barrel, 100% French, 31% new). On the palate, the fruit is quite big (but stops short of fruit-bomb), leading to a rich, weighty mouthfeel. The acidity is there, fighting to compete with all that fruit, and the mid-palate lends considerable depth, ending with an above-average finish. While this Pinot is not my preferred style, it really is fantastic. Outstanding.

Glorious as usual. Dark cherries and raspberries with a hint of cola. One of the best Pinots for the price out there.

Very fruity raspberry. Maybe a bit over the top for my liking.
