Medium-dark reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruits aromas of cherries, blueberries & cassis & plums with overtones of herbal & floral notes, spices, cocoa, earthy/dusty, coffee, tobacco, minerals & a hint of vanilla/oak. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with herbs, minerals, spices & vanilla/oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (94+).

Deep, dark and rich, the wine is packed from start to finish with layers of lush, polished, ripe, sweet, pure, black and dark red fruits, flowers, espresso, hints of chocolate and oceanic influences. There is a beautiful sense of symmetry, purity, freshness, length and lift that already expresses its essence. The finish continues with its layers of ripe, opulent, yet refined fruits. This is a top vintage for Cantenac Brown that will age gracefully for 2-3 decades. Drink from 2026-2055.

Union Grands Crus Bordeaux (UGC) 2020 Tasting (Hangar 14, Bordeaux): Nose of burnt cinnamon toast. Surpringdly well integrated, in fact, the most of any red wine at the tasting. Delicious with good depth. Could even drink this now.

UGCB tasting Bordeaux 2020 Walkaround tasting so in general just short notes (Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam.): Beautiful bouquet with red and dark berries as well as some toast. Same on the palate, juicy dark berries, medium+ tannin and a good length. 93 - 94
