A beautiful nose: surprisingly fruit and floral along with cured meat, licorice, and touch of fresh tobacco leaf. Midweighted, deep and beautifully balanced. This has fruit, floral, ferrous, and savory notes. Lovely perfume and grace with a wild almost feral undertone. A terrific combo of contrasting notes that come together pretty seamlessly into a greater whole. With time, more savory meaty notes came to the fore. Super interesting and gratifying. Not a blockbuster, but an effortlessly beautiful wine at peak.
FWIW, a nearly transcendent pairing with a guanciale, blistered tomato, pecorino, and Martelli spaghetti dish.

Granato cupo.

(Carnevino, Vegas) A brief whiff of VA at the beginning which quickly and completely vanished. Light body with rusty fruits, smoke and meat notes. Narrow structure. Very nice middle which pushed the fruit. Medium finish, tapering slowly with blood and allspice-like notes. Very good, but lacking the brooding aspects I want in my Pepe MdA.
