Cool fennel with red and dark fruit, great perfume even at this young age. There's some subtle rose in there, too. Nice concentrated fruit on the palate. Decent amount of pleasure to be had drinking this right now. Ovello is, in my opinion, one of Produttori's single vineyard standouts.
Purple/ garnet color Oak, cigar box, pencil lead on the nose Blackberries, black cherry, some citrus, and black tea. There is also a tartness like sour cherry. Dry, aggressive tannins, strong acidity, and a long finish. I think this is my first Barbaresco. This was nice.

Decanted 2.5 Hours. Upon decanting big bold plum & cherry aroma w/light leather color. Flavor of black currant, cherries, light tar w/strong legs. Wine is balanced in structure w/full pleasing oak finish. Wine profile over 2 hour dinner continued to soften on the finish. A great addition to Grilled rib eye, Italian Sausage & peppers & meat ravioli.

Still has the astringency expected of nebbiolo, which might suggest it still has a future in the cellar, but I'm skeptical since the fruit is so pruny. Was a disappointment.
