  • 1st minute:
Nose: hint of berry, plum, tea leaf. Palate: very close, watery and the present of alcohol is the only think that reminds me this is a wine
    1 hr in the glass:
Nose: dry leaf, gun powder, peppery. plum palate: high acid, tea leaf, soy sauce.
    Day 2
Nose: black fruit, dry date, sweet spice, hint of white pepper.
Palate: savory and sweet at the same time, dry rose, day fruit, dry orange peel, high tannin, medium finish, balance. In short resurrected after 24 hours, no a big wine but a very decent one.
    Day 3
Nose: plum, prune, sweet spice, coffee, cedar wood, dry leaf.
Palate: sweet black fruit, peppery, coffee, high tannin, not as good as day 2 but very good still.
Old Italian wine is very interesting and fun to drink if you got time.

  • Drukket i Zalto burgund.

  • minor barnyard notes blow off quickly; leather and tobacco with fading cherry; still has good structure; past its prime but this still works for me

  • This was my second bottle from a recently purchased lot. And it behaved very differently from the first one. This wine was like Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale the ugly duckling. It started out awful and ended the evening as a beauty. We initially thought there was something wrong with the wine as the nose was almost that of a corked wine, but in the mouth it didn't taste like a corked wine, but just like a wine in need of air. As it didn't improve during the first two hours, we gave up on the wine. By coinsidence we revisited the wine late in the evening and it had developed into a completely different wine. The strange smell was gone and in the mouth it was no longer muted. As with the first bottle I drank before Christmas, there was now a very distinct menthol or camphor note in the nose. In the mouth it displayed excellent balance between fruit and acidity - very fresh and impressive for a wine this age. Finnish was long and velvety. What a journey for this wine.
