A private lunch (Restaurant Brut de Mer, Amsterdam, NL): Excellent typicity, spicy slate, electric acidity and tension, gentle bitters, ripe citrus and white peach, very energetic and almost dancing, excellent resonance and length.

Pineapple and pink grapefruit, with lemon curd, custard, and hints of smoke and cedar coming with aeration on the yeasty nose that needs a couple of hours to blow off a slight touch of reduction. Flavors of passion fruit, green apple, and lime, with tobacco leaf and parsley on the very dry, acidic palate, that ends in a salty and lingering stony mineral finish. Very young but quite enjoyable, though it should improve with further cellaring to reveal a softer profile with better balance and complexity. Give it a few hours decant if drinking young, and enjoy with some pork schnitzel.

It will certainly continue to develop, but this is delicious young Riesling and typical of the Nahe region: a wine not for the faint hearted, as it is electrical tension, minerality and youthful joy.

Still young and wound tight. The wine enters with a razor-sharp, high-toned acidity. Flavors and aromas of green apple, white currant, lemon, lime, minerals, slate and flower blossoms. The finish is a bit austere at the moment. Needs time
