Tasting lunch. This came highly recommended as a fresh Pfalz style. It was indeed better balanced than many GG of this region with yellow stone fruit, quice, ripe lemon, but the Van Volxem Gottesfuss was at a completely different level in terms of elegance.

Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Tasting: This is the polar opposite of the Ungeheuer. Where the Ungeheuer is hedonistic, this is very elegant and refined. Yet it does not give in on intensity. The "Herzwein" over at Bürklin-Wolf and (tied with the 1995 Beerenauslese) also my personal favorite of the evening.
