Initial phase, a lot of cocoa powder, earthy, dark fruits. After a few hours, a hint of floral, cassis. On the palate, balanced, good finish. Very well made wine.

My first time tasting a La Gravette de Certan. I decanted, and then I let it breathe for three hours. The color is very purple, and the nose very fruity. My first impression of this wine was nothing extraordinary. There were faint aroma's of Licorice and Cassis. No improvement on day two. The wine may benefit from time, but I can't say that I see a bright future. Is it worth $69 a bottle? only time will tell.
