  • gave the glass air for over an hour. wine softened up considerably showing rose and tar on the nose. beautiful cherry fruit with just a hint of bitter almond on the finish. a great langhe nebbiolo but not quite as wonderful as the 2021. great depth of fruit from not necessarily all younger vines. love the line-up of wines from cavallotto. this is top of class as far as langhe nebbiolo goes!

  • Blinded this could easily pass for Barolo. Clean and fresh with rose petals and cherry. Nice purity of fruit if not particularly complex or long. Solid and a good value. I would concur with others that the 2021 may be a touch better…

  • Good Langhe. More like a standard barolo. Could wait another 2-3 years. Balanced and fresh. Classic Nebbiolo , with some more uplifted energy. Not so complex but maybe with some extra years. Well done. 91-92 p

  • 14.5% alcohol. Long cork of above average quality. Did not decant, which was a major mistake. Pale (but not faded) translucent ruby colour.
The nose has a reductive eggy character which swamps the fine red berries; these take over with time in the glass, revealing much delicacy. The reduced character shows in the mouth too, where it actually persists longer than on the nose, spoiling the experience to a large extent. Good grip and acidity.
    Definitely a wine to decant.

  • Red cherry, dark plum, licorice. Mix of red and dark fruits so some dark cherry, black olive mixed in. Full bodied, high, ripe, velvety tannin, high acid, long finish. As always, this is an incredible Langhe Nebbiolo. I didn't taste them side by side but If I had, I think I'd prefer the 2021. Both fantastic and objectively little to split them but for me, the 2021 just has that slightly stronger sense of place which I think this wine is all about.
