I have no idea whence this wine came. All I know is I can't wait to drink the 4 or 5 more bottles I have over the next couple years.

I just popped and poured for no other reason to have a sip while I was reading before bed. No decant.

High-toned strawberry and raspberry aromas with some chocolate in there. Black peppery and meaty, with maybe even a hint of soy sauce.

Distinct notes of stone and iron on the palate, more red fruits. More meaty notes. Full bodied with smooth tannins, just enough acidity to keep it all fresh.

What a stunning price-to-quality ratio for a CdR in the low-to-mid teens. This drinks like plenty of CdR that are $20+. I give this my highest recommendation.

  • Tight at first but opened really nicely after 15-20 minutes in glass. Dried flower petal with some meatiness on the nose. Raspberry, blackberry and blueberry with some earthy drive and a little bit of pepper and spice. Alcohol started to poke out as it warmed up towards the end so try to keep it at cellar temp. Meidum+ tannin, enough to stand up to a fatty cheese burger with caramelized onions and to interest me in buying more and seeing where it goes over the next 10+ years.

  • A very enjoyable, organically farmed Ventoux wine with an excellent QPR. A blend of 50 % Grenache, 30 % Syrah and 20 % Mourvèdre that was aged for twelve months in oak barrels and concrete vats. Deep dark red in color and a really aromatic nose displaying scents of blueberry, cassis, dried herbs and a hint of cedar wood and leather. The full-bodied, well-balanced palate offers rich blackberry and plum fruit, noticeable but already nicely integrated tannins and a fine supporting acid structure. Long spicy finish. A joy to drink it now and over the next three-four years.

  • Nice drinking Syrah, needs some air to open up. A bit metallic, meaty, nicely balanced with a mix of blue berries. Good weight on the palate. Keep temp to the lower side to prevent sticking alcohol. Overall very good and great qpr

  • Poopy nose! This has good deep fruit with a lot of earth, rubber and dark plum flavors, yet also has a brightness and lift that is very nice. Not a ton of tannic structure, so I'm guessing not a candidate for long aging. But good acid keeps everything in good balance. A new world meets old world directed wine. This is pretty good and at $17 a decent bargain. Hoping the SO2 blows off, maybe give it some air before drinking.
