  • Not decanted. Aerated during pour and consumed over an hour or so with dinner.

I have always liked this wine a lot. Originally it was one of the first that i tasted that said, if not screamed, "Burgundy" - with the lighter, more elegant palate, some earth, and excellent minerality and balance.

Now that i have tasted more there are definitely more 'Burgundian" Pinots from Oregon, but to be fair, many are more $$ and harder to find too. And i continue to think its a terrific wine. I generally pad mid $20s for this wine locally.

tasted the 2018 the other night with a friend and his family - and his lineage is from France and his family was involved with Burgundy once. we both agreed it held up its rep (with us) as a wine that there are si,ply no complaints about. Pretty silky, beautiful fruit, some structure, good balance, some earth.

Ruby in the glass. Good legs. Nice nose that matches the palate. I expect this will continue to evolve and to many, improve, over the next 5 years. Sometime this year i will try my last 2008.

  • $18 value Willamette, Oregon, 2018 Van Duzer Pinot Noir. Mid ruby, viscous (13.5 alc.); red fruit, strawberry, stemmy Pinot nose; mid acids; mid+ tannins; bigger style; long semi-chewy red fruit and wood finish; opens with air. 16/90.

  • Cherry, earth, & raspberry to the nose. Initial impression was tartness followed by raspberry & a hint of oak. Still plenty of tannin in this wine. It is surprisingly full flavored and finish ranges somewhere between medium and long.
Much better than I expected for a relatively inexpensive wine.

  • Great pop and poor Pinot soft mouth feel with lots of raspberry and cranberry on the palette.

Really tasty, especially for the price point.
