Whether this is past it’s prime is really in the eye of the beholder. For my palate it was absolutely perfect, drinking like a 90s Mondavi—but you have to really like that style of very mature Cali cab. Husband and daughter (it is her birth year wine) also loved it. Fading ruby color, you could see the age. Aromas still intense of plums and mature fruits. Very smooth with tannins barely discernible and an acid kick to make it really juicy. Decent finish. Fantastic. I will seek out more. Did not decant.
Cherry liqueur on the nose. On the palate, plum, kirsch, and blackberry, with no detectable tannins and moderate acidity on the medium finish. This may be a little past its peak; after a few hours the fruit starts to become monotone. This was a good value at about $35.

Popped and poured. Drank over 2-3 hours. This is much improved from the last bottle I had a couple years ago. Oak has integrated well. Decent amount of fruit. While this will not wow you it is a decent cabernet. This should hold up well for another 5+ years.

Outstanding balance and, while perhaps a touch past its prime, this is tough to beat. We had this with pasta with vegetables and sausage - outstanding pairing. I would drink with food.

Decanted. Soft tannins, wonderful fruit especially for its age, silky and velvety in your mouth. Fantastic and worth the wait.
