  • An enjoyable Tapestry, tasting mostly of tertiary flavors and a bit of cherry. Went well with dinner and was still tasty the following day, though chocolate flavors were intermixed then too.

  • Vibrant fruit - predominantly raspberry and blackberry - and a big hit of sweet tobacco leaf. Good acidity and still has some tannin backbone. Not the most nuanced or sophisticated Beaulieu, but still very enjoyable.

  • Just freaking textbook solid. I wish I had a case of this one. Stylistically overoaked for my palate, but this has matured beautifully into the secondary aromas. That little whiff of pizza herbs from the Franc really completes the wine. Dark chocolate, tart raspberries, ripe red plums and just starting to hit the eucalyptus/mint notes. It’s too bad more wines at this price point don’t age like this.

  • Consistent with earlier tasting notes, dark garnet colored, medium-full bodied, nicely balanced and textured, a bit tight and closed initially, the brambly black berry fruits were highlighted by a layer of cassis eventually giving way to tones of tea, tobacco and cedar, with hints of anise and smokey oak on a moderate tannin lingering finish. After being open for a day the black berry and black cherry fruits revealed themselves accents by a violet floral layer.
