Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Fresh and rather reserved for a 2009. Showing some age, but probably not quite mature... hard to tell, but this should soften and become more complex for a few years, and last well beyond. Aromas of leather, tobacco, roast beef, dried flowers, dried cherry and currants. Fresh, slightly grippy, full-bodied but not heavy, lots of savory and herbal nuance, and nice floral stuff too. Deepens with air, gaining sweet blackcurrant and dark plum notes. Long, savory and tangy. Old school. Some may find this tough. I quite like it. For steak methinks.
