Very woody, especially compared to the other bottle had alongside, and very dry still. Still seriously slumbering. Hands off for a minimum of 5 years. Big beautiful fruit here, so while this will never be a Grand Cru, it's pretty impressive, and worth the cellar space.

Closed. Shut down hard on day 1. Day 2, starting to open up. Beautiful pure fruit on the nose and palate with firm Oak tannins that hypersalivate the mouth and bring you back for more.

I wanted to open this as I have more bottles available locally in a hidden store with very cool storage. Glad I did. This is twenty years away from drinking well, but shows the brilliance of the producer, the vintage, and the old school wine making here, pre-2006, before the style changed. I love this - very Chambolle, tight, pure ripe bright red fruit, structure and iron show on coaxing, wonderful mouth feel, persistence and length. Not as acidic as some 05s right now, so this will age on balance in addition to the not insubstantial tannins. This will be brilliant....wait for it..... for my kid! Or HIS kid. The bomb, but a couple decades away. 93pts pure quality, 96pts personal preference.

Showing almost nothing on the nose, and palate showing moderate tannin, a hint of forest floor... really none of the Chambolle high-toned flowery nose and none of the loving fruit. I suspect the tannins will outlive any Chambolle qualities, but no harm in waiting 5+ years...

Smoke and charcoal over firm tannins with fruit poking through. Still too young
