Rich gold. Plentiful mousse. Dense, bready, slightly buttery aroma with a citrus edge. The taste carries this through - rich, layered, and intense without tipping over into being overpowering. There's a creamy-caramel core that makes me think of Bollinger. The finish is burnt pear and roast citrus. This is really surprising - really just as good as many mid-range champagnes, but far cheaper. If I had the spare cash right now, I'd go and buy a case. The best (non-champagne) sparkling wine I've had. [Booths, £10, 12.5% abv]
