  As tasted almost 2 yrs ago, but less enamored with its one-dimensional, rustic nature. Would guess Southern Rhone if tasted blind. Not a sipper, but demands food. That said, I think more time in the decanter would've allowed this wine to fully show its stuff.

  Decanted for 1hr before initial tasting. Brickish color, mildly translucent. Dominant green tobacco on nose, savory tobacco also prominent palate with hints of meat and black cherry lurking. Intensely flavored, yet relatively light-bodied IMO. Grippy, slightly drying finish lasts for several minutes. Very limited experience with Italian wines, was not sure what to expect from this mildly aged Brunello. On its own, an 88-pt wine but paired with marinated and grilled flank steak fully 93 pts. Definitely a food wine.

  Dark red, medium to full bodied, black cherry flavors, subtle minerality, nice acidity, soft tannins. A lovely wine that has aged well, and has several years left. No sediment at this time.
