Good wine, approachable despite it’s youth. A bit lighter and prettier than the Via Nova tried along side. Maraschino cherry fruit and roses. Impressive intensity and finish . Tannins add a nice balancing firmness. 4

obviously very young. going to wait a few more years on the other bottles, but I was pleasantly surprised by the acidity and focus of the wine despite the vintage. a touch riper and more open than "normal", whatever that means, but high toned strawberry fruit carried the day. I did not find oak influence obtrusive. Probably would score higher in future when tannins mellow a bit.

A beautiful inviting forward nose. Roses, red fruits, and spice. It's really well balanced, supple and a bit polished. A forward giving wine with good structure, outstanding balance, but is a little more polished and fleshy than I would prefer.

La Festa del Barolo 2023 (The Pool, NYC): The 2018 Barolo Mosconi is vividly fruit-focused and exotic, with a burst of wild strawberry and cherry accentuated by hints of mint and sweet spice. It’s silky-smooth with cooling acidity and crisp red fruits that give way to a caking of chalky minerality. The 2018 finishes grippy yet fresh with a lingering spiciness.

La Festa del Barolo: Masterclass (and burgers) (The Pool/Grill): This is a producer I’ve really wanted to like but the extra oak has generally gotten to me and so it’s not always been my favorites. This though was a bit less intense in that manner. The first impression was cloves on the nose and then cloves on the palate. More herbal in style. Not nearly as intense as I remember the previous vintage being. Perhaps softening some.
