Wedding year vintage on our 37th anniversary. Very similar to my 12/30/2018 note except that this bottle had a ton of sediment so a very careful decant was required. The fruit has faded and it was pretty dry but it drank perfectly with a grilled ribeye steak. I am raising my score for how well it paired with the meal. I wouldn't sit on this wine any longer. Our last bottle unfortunately.
Acquisition story: We had been early wine club members and the winery sold us their last 6 bottles of this wine for $5.00 each - probably 20+ years ago. I assume it was because it was an older wine that they wanted to clear out.

Our wedding year. Decanted for 1 hour. Wine was clear with no sediment. The fruit has faded but it was still intact and we enjoyed it with a dinner of meatloaf and roasted winter vegetables.

This bottle has held up well. Have no clue what this tasted like in it's youth, but this bottle had some baked cherry fruit, anise, and earthy notes. Good texture, not at all swampy like some other older cabs can get. Nose was subdued, but this was a nice drink.

Perhaps I didn't give this enough time to open up - and the bottle had traveled just a few days prior - but it seemed pretty much gone.

A great example of how the old time Napa Cab can mature- grace and demure but full of spice and vigor as well. An old girl really shines!
