To us, this was a bit “old world.” Not being a fan of French wines, “old world” isn’t something we target. This was good - not great. Overall, I prefer Ridge Zins.

Not sure if this got cooked during delivery or befell some other calamity, but reading the other tasting notes (and being very familiar with other Ridge products) there is no doubt it was off.

Opened for 3 hours. Color is deep ruby. On the nose: Raspberry, mixed red and blackberries and a hint of vanilla and cranberry. On the palate: Cranberry, raspberry, pomegranate and little bit of orange zest in the background. Good acidity and ok length. This is quite good. Worth seeking out. Very easy drinking but not a simplistic wine. I am liking this much better than my first bottle.

Same as my note last year. A very structure forward wine but just not quite the fruit density for improvement with age. Very Old World that way. Makes for a good dinner companion with foods that are better served with acid and tannin strength.

Fresh apricots, grass and herbs. Excellent with grilled salmon and asparagus.
