PnD with a splash drank right away. Purple crimson with sediment clear rim not saturated. Parmesan rind raspberry and kirsch aromas. Medium weight with fully ripe cherry skin and jasmin tea tannin. Lingering ripe bing cherry and mineral notes with nicely framed balancing acidity. Holds up well and very drinkable.

One hour decant. Sangiovese, no doubt, but lacking in complexity. It may be other blending varieties that interfere but they aren't readily identifiable. It opens with black fruit and leather and then fades to mostly tary leather. The palate is one of the best of the '05s I've tasted which is remarkable since this wine is very inexpensive. It needs about two hours to fully round out and soften the light tannin. After that it is ripe, balanced and lingering. Needs time, 1-4? years, but it seems odd cellaring such an inexpensive bottle and is good now. Good/very good and delicious at the table.

Une belle couleur tirant sur le rouge nous attend avec ce vin. Le nez est spectaculaire pour un vin de cette gamme de prix. Beaucoup de fruits, mais aussi une touche d'épices (cannelle). En bouche, un bel équilibre. On salive à souhait. Un chianti tout-à-fait recommendable!

Wonderful. More open than last bottle. Developing some interesting aroma components. Good after 30 minutes. Could use a few years.

Good nose with cherry and black berry flavours. It needed about 30 minutes to open up, so was much better on the second glass.
