  • Definitely over the hill. No point rating it.

  • Solid Barolo though not quite as nice as a '00 Cavallotto Vignolo at the same dinner. Decanted ~6 hours before dinner. Really nice nose on opening and stayed similarly pronounced and layered throughout the evening with aromas of sweet plum, balsamico, dried flowers and licorice. Medium bodied with fine tannin that is still grainy enough to create grip. In a good spot now and should hold for 5+ years.

  • beautiful tonight. light-medium bodied with very clean and clear flavor profile. gave a bit of the classic barolo herb/savory meat character on the aroma. in a fantastic spot and this bottle could have aged much longer. only opened up after a 4+hour decant. perfectly accompanied polenta with truffle oil.

  • nose: pretty and well balanced nose of roses, roasted herbs, dark red cherries, tar, a hint of leather, and some berries with a touch of incense. Very perfumed and engaging on the nose

taste: medium bodied with good supporting tannins and medium+ acidity. Very well balanced and silky right now with the acidity being in check. Pretty with polished tones of roasted herbs, tar, dark red cherries, incense and a touch of tobacco+leather

overall: this was decanted for about 90 minutes. Has a bit of browning at the rim, but not all that much. This is in a real lovely place right now and is a pleasure to drink

  • Dark red. Earthy red fruit but very tight nose. Quite big flavours of earthy dark cherry and a very tannic dry finish. I'm not going to score this or the other Barolo because they were so tight.
