Menthol aroma. Attack is sweet red apples followed by lime. There's an incredibly strong mineral presence, to the point that it takes over the finish. It's more clay than chalk. Zero dosage but just goes to show what you can do when you pick ripe fruit.

Champagne Bookclub (served blind)--Rob (Water Grill in Costa Mesa): Served blind. No dosage and yet there were a few at the table that were surprised this was non-dose. Creamy with mint and lime chew. I even write down "elevated dosage?'--blind tasting is always humbling and educating. Lots of citrus, candied orange peel and blood orange. I enjoyed this.

World Cup final BBQ: Seemed green and underripe, texture of the wine was thin and dilute. Liked the 2011 a lot more from this producer than this 2012 and a 2008 from a couple of months ago. Buy their off-vintages?

Lemon chalk nose. Too much dosage. Not bad, but not worth the $
